Tissue-repair research
In vitro and animal models of wound healing, tendon, ligament and skeletal-muscle repair.
Peptide · Research use only
A synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide, supplied as lyophilised powder with HPLC purity, mass confirmation and net peptide content — for laboratory research use only.
Also known as BPC 157 · PL 14736 · Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val
Overview
BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide whose sequence — Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val — corresponds to a fragment found in human gastric juice. It appears throughout the research literature on tissue repair, angiogenesis and gastrointestinal models.
For a peptide, purity is only half the specification. The other half is net peptide content: how much of the weighed powder is peptide rather than counter-ion, water and residual solvent. A lyophilised peptide at 98% HPLC purity can be 80% peptide by mass, and that gap changes every calculation a laboratory makes from the vial.
Eastling supplies BPC-157 as a white lyophilised powder, ≥98% by HPLC, identity confirmed by mass spectrometry, with acetate as the counter-ion unless another form is agreed. This material is supplied for laboratory research and further manufacturing use only — it is not a medicine, food or cosmetic ingredient, and it is not for human or animal consumption.
Identity
The identifiers your specification sheet, customs paperwork and product label all have to agree on. Where a number depends on the salt form, both are given.
HS codes are indicative only. Final classification is confirmed per shipment with your customs broker.
Manufacture
Solid-phase synthesis, then two purification decisions that determine what the COA actually tells you.
The 15 residues are assembled on resin, with the difficult Pro-Pro-Pro stretch driving coupling strategy and, ultimately, the deletion-sequence impurity profile.
The peptide is cleaved from resin and side-chain protecting groups removed; this step determines whether TFA ends up in the final material.
Preparative reverse-phase purification isolates the full-length peptide from deletion and truncation sequences — the impurities that a single purity figure can obscure.
Acetate exchange followed by lyophilisation to a low-water, free-flowing cake, then HPLC, MS and water testing before release.

Specification
The written limits we release against, with the method used to test each one. Batch results for the lot you receive are stated on its certificate of analysis.

| Net peptide content | ≥ 80% (stated per batch) | Amino-acid analysis / UV |
| Counter-ion | Acetate; TFA content ≤ 1.0% where applicable | Ion chromatography |
| Water content | ≤ 6.0% | Karl Fischer |
| Related substances | Largest single impurity ≤ 1.0% | RP-HPLC |

Tighter limits — for example a lower heavy-metal ceiling or a residual-solvent panel — can be quoted against your own specification wording.
Certificate
Peptide COAs are easy to make look good. These three figures are where honest ones differ from decorative ones.
HPLC purity is the main peak as a share of all UV-absorbing material. Net peptide content is how much actual peptide is in the vial. At 98% purity with 82% net content, a 5 mg vial holds about 4.1 mg of peptide — and every assay calculation should use that number.
Deletion sequences elute close to the main peak. Ask whether the impurity profile lists individual sequences or only a total. A “total ≤2%” line can hide a single 1.9% deletion impurity.
TFA is the default in many syntheses and it is not inert in cell work. Acetate is the safer default for research use; if your protocol is sensitive to residual TFA, state the limit and have it tested.
Documentation & packaging
The paperwork travels with the goods. If your QA team needs an extra declaration, ask before the order is released — some are issued per production lot and cannot be retrofitted.
Purity, identity by MS, net peptide content, water, counter-ion and microbiological results, one lot per page.
Full HPLC chromatogram with the gradient and wavelength stated, plus the ESI-MS spectrum.
Safety data sheet for laboratory handling, and the written specification used for release.
A signed statement that the material is supplied for laboratory research and further manufacturing use only, not for human or animal consumption.
